ABWA MEMBERSHIP

Membership of ABWA is not open to individuals but only to West African Accountancy bodies which are recognised by law and general consensus within their respective countries as being substantial national organizations, of good standing within the profession.

The current membership of ABWA consists of the following ten Institutes of which five are from Anglophone or English speaking countries and five from Francophone or French speaking countries, of West Africa:

Members from Anglophone Countries:

  • The Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG)
  • The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN)
  • The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sierra Leone (ICASL)
  • The Gambian Association of Accountants (GAA)
  • The Liberian Chartered Institute of Certified Public Accountants (LICPA)

Members from Francophone Countries:

  • Ordre des Experts Comptables et Comptables Agrees de Cote d’ Ivoire (OECCA-C)
  • Ordre National des Experts Comptables du Cameroon (ONECCA);
  • Ordre des Experts Comptables at Comptables Agrees du Benin (OECCA - BENIN)
  • Ordre National des Experts Comptables et Comptables Agrees du Niger (ONECCA-N)

  • Association Togolaise des Experts Comptables Diplomes (ATECD).

Forum of Accountants General and Auditors General of West Africa (FAAGWA)

Non-members
Efforts are being intensified to bring on board West African Countries not yet represented in ABWA namely:


Francophone:

  • Burkina Faso,
  • Chad Republic
  • Guinea,
  • Guinea Bissau,
  • Mali
  • Mauritania,
  • Senegal.

Portuguese Speaking:

  • Cape Verde.
